‘Madharaasi’ on OTT: Fans of Tamil cinema are in for a treat as filmmaker AR Murugadoss’s latest, ‘Madharaasi’, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Rukmini Vasanth, and Vidyut Jammwal, is all ready to premiere on Prime Video starting October 1.
Murugadoss described the film as an exploration of “the fascinating intersection of the human mind and high-stakes action.” Joining the lead trio are Biju Menon, Vikranth, and Shabeer Kallarakkal.
Set in Tamil Nadu, ‘Madharaasi’ revolves around Raghu (Sivakarthikeyan), a seemingly ordinary car showroom employee with a secret. Raghu suffers from a rare psychological disorder that makes him believe strangers are his long-lost relatives. His life takes a dangerous turn when NIA officer Premnath recruits him for a covert mission: to infiltrate a cylinder gas factory that secretly doubles as a weapons storage hub for a notorious arms syndicate.
The film weaves Raghu’s fragile mental state, haunting past, and tender relationship with Malathi, a dental student and singer, into a story where reality and delusion collide. Meanwhile, Virat and Chirag lead the ruthless syndicate.

Sivakarthikeyan shared that portraying Raghu was both challenging and rewarding. “His vulnerability and courage, along with the unpredictability of his journey, pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way,” he said. “Working with Murugadoss sir has been a dream. His vision helped reveal layers of the story I hadn’t imagined.”
Murugadoss added, “Raghu’s journey is both emotional and thrilling. His disorder is not just a vulnerability but becomes an unexpected strength. Collaborating with Sivakarthikeyan, Anirudh, and the talented cast and crew elevated the film in every way.”
The story also touches on Raghu’s fregoli delusion, a psychological condition that makes him see familiar faces in strangers.
Prime Video viewers can mark their calendars for October 1, when ‘Madharaasi’ goes live for streaming.
