If you missed the roar of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ in theatres, here’s your moment as the mystical world created by Rishab Shetty has an OTT release.
After ruling the box office and sending fans into a cultural trance, the film is now streaming online opening the doors for viewers to experience its intense story and divine energy from the comfort of home.
Released in theatres on October 2, the film marked Rishab Shetty’s big return not only as a filmmaker but also as a lead actor.

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ is now available on Amazon Prime Video. Fans can watch the film in its original Kannada version as well as in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam dubbed versions. So whether you’re from Karnataka or Kerala, whether you speak Telugu or Tamil, the film welcomes everyone into its mystical world.
However, Hindi-speaking fans will have to be a little patient. The ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ Hindi version is not out on OTT yet. It will stream only after the movie completes eight weeks of theatrical run which was a part of a release deal decided almost three years ago.
Talking about this, producer Chaluve Gowda shared that the agreement was made long before the current streaming trends changed. “Only the South versions will release right now. Kantara Hindi will come later,” he said.
‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ is a prequel and dives deeper into the powerful universe that stunned audiences in the first ‘Kantara’ film.

The cast brings equal fire to the film. Along with Rishab Shetty, the film stars Gulshan Devaiah who helps bring the story’s traditional and mystical layers alive.
The digital rights of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ were reportedly bought by Amazon Prime Video for around ₹125 crore. Streaming started on 31 October 2025, giving fans early access shortly after its theatrical rush.
