Child artiste Zaira Wasim, who will be seen in Secret Superstar alongside Aamir Khan, is lucky to work with Aamir Khan for a second time within a year and both of her characters were equally challenging.

Zaira feels fortunate about her journey so far and working with one of the biggest stars of Bollywood for a second time.

“This is my second film in a year and my second film with Aamir Khan. The experience of working with him is a learning. There is so much to learn from him but at the same time I would like to add when you are seeking something to learn there’s a certain degree of fear that whether you’ll be able to stand on the person’s expectation.

“But in my case it’s quite the opposite. I’m not at all afraid of him. Why should I be? He’s a cool actor with a calm attitude. I’m afraid of the fact that I’m not afraid of him! I know it’s funny but that’s the truth,” Zaira revealed.

The Dangal actor, who was seen as wrestler in her debut film, will be essaying the role of a singer with big ambitions. She feels both of her characters were equally challenging.

“Both of my characters in the film has been tough and challenging. Dangal was physically challenging whereas Secret Superstar needed a lot more preparation in terms of learning how to play a guitar and lip syncing, but nonetheless both the characters were challenging,” Zaira said.

In Dangal, Aamir sir was a mentor but in Secret Superstar, he is more of a mental, she said.

“In Dangal, he played my father and a mentor but in Secret Superstar, he is a complete mental who can get on your nerve at any point of time. But that his character in the film and justified it so well that I think of Shakti Kumaarr as a mental,” Zaira told The Statesman.

Zaira, who essayed the role of a young Geeta Phogat in Dangal, has gained much appreciation for her performance and it will be interesting to see what the young actor has to offer with her latest outing this Diwali.

Directed by Advait Chandan, the film releases on October 19.
