In what appeared to be a direct attack on exploitative city tycoons, the Ebonies’ new play Gimpe – also called London Eye – became too emotional for some fans to handle.

Some had had too much and failed to watch till the end.

For these theater goers, they could not withstand scenes where a rich man, Arthur, is seen oppressing and exploiting a poor employee at his firm.

Arthur leads a luxurious life involving frequent partying, drinking and having sexual relations with different young beautiful women on proceeds made from the works of his employee, Lawrence Kitaka who instead earns peanuts.

The play that will go throughout the Christmas season and New Year was launched on last week amid pomp and flair at Theater La Bonita.
