A bright student, Sushant Singh Rajput studied at DAV, Kulachi Hansraj Model School. Walking back into the lanes of the school, the actor unveiled the trailer of  his forthcoming biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story along with ‘Captain Cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who himself has studied at DAV School, Ranchi.

Delighted to be back on his school podium, Sushant said, "Bohot din ho gaye yahaan aaye hue, aur chinese samosa khaaye hue…" While the students cheered for him, one couldn’t wonder how the actor was as a student.

In a special conversation with thestatesman.com, the teachers of the school revealed how the actor was as a kid.

Recalling a funny incident, one of the teachers who used to make him practice plays shared how naughty he was in school.

She said, "Nukkad naatak karwaati thi main. Jab practice ke liye bulaate the ya kabhi zorr se daatne the, tab hasta rehta tha. Toh maine ek baar bola usko ki tum chale jao, tum nahi karne wale. Fir kisi ne bola, nahi ye achha karta hai… toh dobaara bulaaya usko. Lekin play mein bhi hass hi raha tha…"

The class teacher of XI – C, Madhu Mehta shared, "He was brilliant, ambitious but a little naughty."

Denying the fact that he was a back-bencher, she said, "I used to teach Physics. So, no one could be a back-bencher in my class."

Sushant’s class teacher from XII standard Yashu Kumar said, "I remember him as somebody very quiet, but very sensitive. And he was a good student. I taught him Chemistry. He never scored exceptionally good marks, but he was quite good. He used to listen to us and obey our instructions."

What was the teachers’ first reaction when they saw Sushant on television for the first time.

"I don’t watch TV a lot. But, I saw his pictures in a magazine, and I recognised him by his trademark smile. I was trying to recollect whether he is the same person or not as I knew him as Sushant Singh, not Sushant Singh Rajput," Yashu said.

For Madhu, it was different story. One of my students told me that he stars in a television soap and he was my student. That’s how I came to know he started to do films and television," she disclosed.

All the teachers were elated as Sushant warmly met and hugged all his teachers and remembered each one of them clearly. "It is a proud moment for us. And, it is like a medal for his teachers," Yashu added.
