Zendaya wears Boucheron diamonds and antenna-detailed corset for Spider-Man’s LA finale

Zendaya closed out her “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” press tour with one of her most striking looks yet. She wore a black satin Ashi Studio corset with a sweeping architectural train to the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Monday night.

The corset featured antenna-like detailing surrounded by sweeping pleats, extending into a dramatic train. The piece came from Ashi Studio’s FW27 Couture Collection.

Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, explained the concept behind the design to Variety during the premiere. He described it as an abstract way of presenting the spider theme. Roach said the idea in their minds was to show a kind of metamorphosis, a woman transforming into something else entirely.

For jewelry, Zendaya wore pieces from Maison Boucheron. That included Lavalliere Diamants pendant earrings from the brand’s Histoire de Style, Art Déco High Jewelry collection. The earrings were paved with diamonds set in white gold, along with onyx and black lacquer accents.

The event

The premiere took place Monday night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Zendaya attended alongside her husband and co-star, Tom Holland, who wore custom Jacquemus for the occasion.

Other cast members joined them on the carpet, including Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Jacob Batalon. Sink wore a backless Prada gown for the event. Her role in the film has been kept under wraps, and audiences won’t know who she plays until the movie opens.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” hits theaters on July 31. The film follows Peter Parker navigating a world where his friends and family no longer remember him. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing.

A press tour built around method dressing

The Los Angeles premiere marked the finale of a global press tour where Zendaya used fashion to echo the film’s spider theme at nearly every stop. Roach told Variety he couldn’t pick a single favorite look from the entire run.

He did single out one standout: the archival spiderweb dress from John Galliano’s 1997 “Circus” collection, which Zendaya wore in June at the London premiere.

Throughout the tour, Zendaya moved through a wide range of spider-inspired pieces. In Madrid, she wore a Christian Cowan dress with fringe detailing that echoed the geometric shape of a web. In Shanghai, she chose an archival Atelier Versace gown from the label’s Spring/Summer 2016 couture collection, featuring intricate web-like mesh paired with a vintage spider brooch from David Webb.

The $35 moment

Not every look on the tour came from a couture house. Last month, Zendaya made headlines for a very different reason. At a “Brand New Day” fan event in Paris, she skipped the formal gowns entirely and wore a vintage Spider-Man T-shirt instead.

Roach found the shirt on eBay for just $34.99. After the moment went viral, he posted the original listing on his Instagram Story with a simple caption: style doesn’t always have to cost a fortune.

What’s next

When asked about his plans for the upcoming “Dune: Part Three” press tour, Roach kept details close to the vest. He offered only a brief tease, saying the tour is still a ways off but promising it’s going to be great.

For now, the “Brand New Day” press tour has wrapped with Zendaya’s abstract, transformation-themed look serving as its final statement, just days before the film reaches theaters worldwide.
