Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith appear to be under the same roof once more. According to media reports, Jada moved back into their family home roughly two years ago, ending years of living apart.
A source told People that Jada moved back in about two years ago. The insider said the couple remains happy and continues to love each other. They have always stayed committed to supporting one another and to their family, according to the source.
The same source also mentioned that Will and Jada spent this year’s Fourth of July together in Philadelphia. Will performed there with the Roots at 2am following a rain delay, and Jada was reportedly by his side, just as she always is.
A long road to this point
This update comes nearly three years after Jada first revealed that she and Will had secretly separated back in 2016. She shared this detail while promoting her memoir, Worthy, and it stunned many fans at the time.
During those interviews, Jada explained that the two had been living completely separate lives since 2016. She said they never announced the separation publicly because they were still figuring out what their relationship would eventually become.
Jada has also spoken about why she never pursued a divorce. She compared the idea of divorce to giving up, and said she was not willing to walk away from the marriage. She has described the emotional connection between her and Will as something she did not feel she could find anywhere else.
Recent public appearances fueled speculation
Even before this latest report, the couple had been showing up together more often. They have been seen supporting their children Jaden and Willow Smith at various events, and have also spent time with Will’s eldest son, Trey Smith.
These appearances, along with family outings in recent weeks, had already led many to believe the couple was growing closer again.
