Vin Diesel is finally showing fans that ‘Fast Forever’ is happening. The actor took to Instagram on Thursday, offering a glimpse into what will be the final film in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise.

In the video, Diesel described the energy on set, saying he is currently there, watching people grind through the work. He praised the crew, calling them incredible for the effort they are putting in.

He then turned his message directly toward fans. Diesel thanked them for being the best audience in the world, acknowledging their patience with the industry, the studio, and with him personally. He said the team has spent the past three and a half years grinding to create what he called the most amazing finale.

Other projects Diesel has worked on

While waiting for Fast Forever to come together, Diesel mentioned he had the chance to take on other characters. He gave a specific shoutout to Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, a project he will both star in and write for Mattel Studios.

Diesel closed his message by saying he could feel the support from fans, and that it means the world to him. He said he was heading back to filming, hoping to make everyone proud with the final result.

The franchise’s massive legacy

Since launching in 2001, the Fast and Furious franchise has grossed more than 7 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. That makes it Universal’s highest grossing and longest running franchise to date.

Among all the films, Furious 7 stands as the strongest performer, earning 1.5 billion dollars worldwide.

A TV expansion is also coming

Back in May, Universal confirmed that a Fast and Furious television show is in development at Peacock. Diesel made that announcement himself during NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation this year.

According to Diesel, fans have spent the last decade asking for more from the franchise, particularly wanting deeper stories around its legacy characters. He said the timing became right once Donna Langley took over broader oversight, since that gave him confidence the characters and their international appeal would be protected in the television format.

Diesel stated that Peacock is set to launch shows connected to the Fast and Furious universe, though reports suggest only one series is currently in active development despite Diesel referencing four during his announcement.

When ‘Fast Forever’ releases

Fast Forever is ready to hit theatres on March 17, 2028, closing out the eleventh chapter of the franchise. The film picks up after Fast X, which ended with Dom Toretto and his son caught in a dangerous situation after Dante Reyes triggered an explosion at a dam.

Louis Leterrier, who directed Fast X, is likely to return for this installment, while Michael Lesslie is going to write the script. No cast announcement is out.
