Pedro Pascal looks back at ‘Wonder Woman 1984’: Pedro Pascal has opened up about why he prefers to keep his beard or moustache for roles and it’s not just about style. The actor recently spoke about his look in a chat with ‘The Fantastic Four’ co-star Vanessa Kirby for LADbible’s ‘Agree to Disagree’ series.

When the question came up — are moustaches sexier than beards? — Pascal gave a very honest (and slightly funny) answer.

“I grow such bad facial hair,” he admitted, “but if I shave it all off… I look really terrible.” He added with a laugh, “I strongly disagree with a clean-shaven me.”

He even brought up a past film experience to prove his point.

Pedro Pascal played the villain Maxwell Lord in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, a movie he loved, but not how he looked in it.

“I was so appalled by the way I looked. I’ve never gone back to being clean-shaven unless it was completely necessary,” he said.

That role, where he appeared without facial hair, left a mark on him. Since then, the actor has tried to keep at least some stubble on his face, feeling more comfortable and confident that way.

Of course, Pascal says he would still follow a director’s request if the role truly demanded it. “If the producers or Matt Shakman [director of ‘Fantastic Four’] asked me to shave, I would’ve done it,” he said. “But luckily, creating our looks for the movie was a very collaborative process.”

‘The Fantastic Four’ is set in a retro 1960s-style universe and brings a new take on the iconic superhero team. Alongside Pascal and Kirby, the cast includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn. The group will face off against cosmic threats like Galactus and the Silver Surfer while also navigating the challenges of being a family.

The film is going to release on July 24. And fans are already excited to see how this version of Marvel’s first family comes together on screen.
