The movie made her a global star. Her daughter gave it five minutes and called it a day. Millie Bobby Brown appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and shared a small story about showing her daughter the first Enola Holmes film. The reaction was not what most fans would expect.

“I did show her Enola Holmes 1, and she wasn’t interested at all, and then I said, ‘Tis I,’ and she looked up because I sounded like mom, you know?” Brown said. “She liked it. She watched like five minutes and then got completely disinterested, but it was very nice to be able to show her that, you know, all of my childhood is on Netflix.”

Brown is 22 years old and has been acting professionally since she was a child. She first appeared in Stranger Things in 2016, at age 12. Enola Holmes premiered on Netflix in 2020, when she was 16.

Who is her daughter?

Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi welcomed their daughter through adoption in 2025. The couple announced the news themselves. “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” they said in their announcement. “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in peace and privacy.”

Since then, they have kept her life largely out of the public eye. The baby’s name has not been shared publicly, and no photos of her face have been posted online.

Brown and Bongiovi married in 2024. Jake is the son of rock musician Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea.

Jon Bon Jovi on grandfather duty

Brown has spoken warmly about how her in-laws have taken to the baby. She described Jon Bon Jovi as fully committed to the role of grandfather, which she said was not something she saw coming.

“They just had her the other day for the whole day, and they went to Target and got like a cart full of things for her. He’s just always on the floor crawling around with her and dying laughing, videoing every new thing she does,” she said.

She also credited her mother-in-law. “He’s the best and so is Dorothea, my amazing mother-in-law. They’re the most present grandparents, and we couldn’t be luckier to have them in her life,” Brown added.

On adopting

Earlier this month, Brown appeared on the Not Gonna Lie podcast and was asked about the adoption process and what advice she would give to other parents considering the same path.

She was direct about the most difficult part. “Waiting for the call is the hardest part,” she said. “Every journey is different. Don’t compare yourself to others, don’t compare yourself to statistics, don’t compare yourself to other families, but your baby is out there, and you’ll find each other.”

She added: “That’s something I prayed for every night. I was just very grateful that our baby was out there and we found each other.”

Saying goodbye to Stranger Things

Stranger Things ended with its fifth and final season, which concluded on December 31, 2025. Brown has played Eleven since the show’s debut in 2016. The character’s fate was one of the most discussed storylines leading up to the finale.

Brown has spoken about the end of the show in several recent interviews, describing the process of closing that chapter after nearly a decade.

Enola Holmes 3

The third Enola Holmes film is set to stream on Netflix from July 1, 2026. Brown reprises the title role. The world premiere of the film took place in New York on June 25, 2026.

Louis Partridge, who plays Viscount Tewkesbury, also returns for the third instalment. The Enola Holmes franchise is one of Netflix’s more consistent performers, with the first two films drawing large viewership numbers on the platform.

Whether Brown’s daughter will give part three more than five minutes remains to be seen.
