Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood win top honour at CMA Awards

Chris Stapleton bagged two top trophies — male vocalist and music video of the year for Fire Away — while Carrie Underwood won the female vocalist honour at the 2016 Country Music Association Awards.

Humble and Kind bagged the song of the year award, while album of the year trophy was given to Eric Church for his work “Mr Misunderstood”, reported Aceshowbiz.

Garth Brooks won the entertainer of the year honour, which was presented to him by pop star Taylor Swift.

Vocal duo of the year award went to Brothers Osborne, while vocal group of the year was awarded to Little Big Town.

Maren Morris earned the new artist of the year award.

Guitarist Dann Huff won the musician of the Yyear honour. R&B star Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the awards where she performed to her song Daddy Lessons with music band Dixie Chicks.
