It seems Mudassar Aziz&’s romantic comedy Happy Bhag Jayegi will not be released in Pakistan anytime soon. The delay in the release has irked Pakistani actress Momal Sheikh who is making her Bollywood debut with the film.
“A decision is still pending, so I’m just waiting for their response. It was a big day for me with a lot of mixed feelings; I’m excited yet nervous as it is my (Bollywood) debut film. I usually don’t complain nor do I (harbour) any negative (feelings) but this incident has really upset me,” the Dawn quoted Momal.
“I’m yet to watch the whole movie myself, so I’m personally not even aware of half of the scenes, but from what I’ve seen and gathered, they have definitely shown a positive side of Pakistan, where they are working on helping Indian women,” the actress added.
Reportedly, the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) of Pakistan could not reach a unanimous decision over the fate of the film.
Also, starring Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill and Ali Fazal, the film hit Indian cinema halls on August 19 and earned Rs. 2.32 crores on its first day.
