Veteran actor Zeenat Aman recently gave her fans a scare when she was admitted to the ICU following a sudden health emergency. Her condition has now stabilised, and she is reported to be on the mend.
The news came to light when filmmaker Manish Harishankar, who is directing Zeenat Aman in the upcoming web series ‘Showstopper’, shared a heartfelt update.
“I had reached out to Zeenat ji for the promotional planning of ‘Showstopper’,” he said. “That’s when I got a message from her saying she had been in the ICU. It was an emotional jolt for all of us.”
Harishankar, who describes Zeenat Aman not just as an actor but as the emotional pillar of the series, expressed relief over her recovery.
“She brings soul and gravitas to this project. Her passion, creativity, and presence are irreplaceable. We’re praying for her speedy return. The team misses her energy.”
‘Showstopper’ features an ensemble cast alongside Zeenat Aman, including Saurabh Raj Jain, Zarina Wahab, Rakesh Bedi, Akanksha Puri, and Shweta Tiwari.
The series is gearing up for a nationwide promotional campaign with a deeper purpose. It’s being done in partnership with DIISHA (Driving India’s Initiative for Social Health Awareness), a public health movement working under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Abhijeet Sinha, National Program Director of DIISHA, also extended his wishes to the actor. “Zeenat Aman ji’s contribution to our campaign is deeply valued,” he said. “We are working closely with ‘Showstopper’ to raise awareness about women’s health and breast cancer. Her involvement in this effort is more than symbolic; it’s personal and powerful. We hope to see her back in full form soon.”
The promotional events linked with ‘Showstopper’ aim to spotlight important health issues faced by women. This is particularly around early detection and awareness of breast cancer; causes that Zeenat herself has vocally supported in the past.
The veteran star last appeared in the series ‘The Royals’. She shared the screen with Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, and Sakshi Tanwar.
