While the entire nation is getting restless to watch Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister, the actor has got a no-nonsense critic right at his home. Even before the audience could give their reaction to the film, Kher’s mother gave a very straight forward review to both the movie and her son’s performance.

On January 11, the actor took to Instagram to share a video of his mother, wherein he asks his mother, Dulari Kher, if she liked his performance as Dr Manmohan Singh.

“Mother of all Reviews: Dulari Watched #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister and has given her review in a One minute video. Her first sentence was frightening. “ऐसे कोई acting करता है?”😳. And she almost acted me out. But what followed was a great endorsement for my performance. Her observation about #DrManmohanSingh is spot on. Her review is my ultimate reward. After all these years Mom is relieved that I can act. Jai Mata di,” the caption read.

“I liked Manmohan Singh a lot. Aisa shareeef tha bechara. Lagta tha door se shareef hai, tabhi log shareef ko bewakoof mante hain. Ye nahi pata wo bohot tez hote hain (He was a decent man. He looks decent from a distance. People think decent people are stupid. They don’t know that such people are very sharp),” she said in the video posted by Anupam Kher.

The Accidental Prime Minister, directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, was released on January 11. The biopic is based on a book with the same title written by Sanjaya Baru who was the media advisor to Manmohan Singh when he was the Prime Minister.

Actor Anupam Kher portrays the role of Singh while Akshaye Khanna stars as Baru. German actor Suzanne Bernert is essaying the role of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in the film. Divya Seth is essaying the role of Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur while Ram Avatar Bhardawaj has played former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
