Bollywood actor Vijay Varma first grabbed attention in 2016 with his nerve-chilling portrayal of a villain in the hit film ‘Pink’. Though audiences loved to hate his character, his performance earned widespread praise from critics and moviegoers alike.

Recently Vijay opened up about the challenges of playing such a dark character. Speaking to IANS, he recalled, “It takes time to adjust to such roles. I remember when Sujith Da cast me in ‘Pink’. There was this extremely intense scene in a car with Taapsee Pannu and the other actors. It was powerfully written but very disturbing.”

He admitted how daunting the role felt at first. “I honestly didn’t know if I could pull it off. But as a trained actor, you push yourself. The director’s brief was simple but harsh. ‘If after watching this, a girl doesn’t feel like slapping you, you haven’t done it right.’” Vijay said, “No one actually slapped me, but many said they really felt like it. I do take some crazy challenges as an actor sometimes.”

Fast forward to 2025, Vijay is turning heads again but this time for a very different reason. His upcoming film ‘Gustaakh Ishq’ shows him in a completely new light: a soft-spoken, tender lover.
