Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam is continuing its winning streak. Even after the second week, the film is going strong at the Box Office.

The Aditya Dhar directorial managed to mint Rs 17.06 crore on Sunday and reached a grand total of Rs 108.90 crore. Uri: The Surgical Strike becomes the first blockbuster of 2019 as it surpasses the 100 crores mark in just 10 days.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the current figures of the film on Twitter. “#UriTheSurgicalStrike surpasses all expectations, estimations, and calculations… Wreaks havoc at the BO… Weekend 2 [₹ 37.96 cr] is higher than Weekend 1 [₹ 35.73 cr]… [Week 2] Fri 7.66 cr, Sat 13.24 cr, Sun 17.06 cr. Total: ₹ 108.90 cr. India biz.”

The film is receiving immense appreciation from all quarters — right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the men the uniform, to audience and celebrities.

Uri is Yami Gautam’s second film after Kaabil that reached the benchmark of Rs 100 crore. An excited Yami said, “Very happy with the kind of response that the film has earned and is continuing to have a great run at the box office. I’m very grateful to the team behind the film, everyone has truly worked very hard. Its amazing to have producers like Ronnie who believe in their content and invest in people like us. I’m personally excited to have such a tremendous beginning to 2019 and I am certain to keep the audiences entertained further too.”

Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army in 2016. Besides Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, it stars Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari and debutant Mohit Raina. The film has been directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
