Veere di Wedding actresses Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsani have been going all out to promote their film, and the fashion statements they are making are taking of the town.
Swara Bhaskar was, however, in for some flak after a recent promotional event due to her choice of outfit.
At the launch of Veere Di Wedding, Swara Bhaskar had appeared in a white Atelier Zuhra short dress.
Some people on social media found the dress similar to the frock worn by a child model in a 1990 advertisement of Nirma washing powder. The child, who was dressed in a short white frock had come to be known as ‘Nirma girl’. The visual of the girl whirling in that white dress, along with the jingle, had made it one of the most popular advertisements of the time.
The moment after Swara’s appearance in a similar looking dress surfaced online, a hilarious meme has flooded the social media.
Even Swara was impressed by the creativity and reposted the meme on her Instagram handle. She captioned it: “Very observant I must say guys. Reminded me of my childhood ambition! I always wanted to be the ‘washing powder Nirma child! @chandiniw @saracapela @hot.hair.balloon #Repost @movietalkies with @get_repost.”

The film also casts Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shikha Talsania. The film is produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. The story revolves around four childhood best friends who reunite after 10 years only to realise how drastically their lives have changed. The film is slated to hit the theatres on June 1, 2018.
