Sohail Khan got emotional while speaking about a difficult chapter from his family’s life. On Prime Video’s Alliance, the actor recalled the time his father, veteran writer Salim Khan, slipped into a semi-coma after being hospitalised.

Sohail shared that watching his father go through this scare shifted something in him. He spoke about wanting to spend more time with his parents, saying that while he has children of his own, they are still young and have plenty of time ahead. His parents, on the other hand, are getting older, and that reality now weighs on him.

What happened at the hospital

Sohail recounted the specific period when his father fell seriously ill a few months ago. He said his father was hospitalised and eventually slipped into a semi-coma. During that time, Sohail stayed by his side at the hospital.

He described the moment doctors delivered difficult news, telling the family that they might lose him. Sohail said his heart sank hearing those words. He spoke about how deeply attached he is to both his parents, admitting he does not know how he would cope if something happened to his father. For him, he said, his parents are simply his life.

Salim Khan’s hospitalisation

The 90 year old writer was hospitalised on February 17 after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He was rushed to the hospital by his family doctor and admitted directly into the ICU, where he was placed on ventilator support.

He later underwent a minor procedure and remained under close medical observation following that. During his hospital stay, several well known actors came to visit him, including Shilpa Shetty, Aamir Khan, and Sanjay Dutt. His close friend, veteran writer Javed Akhtar, also visited him during this period.
