Messi’s first stop: Kolkata
Messi’s India trip titled the GOAT Tour of India 2025 starts exactly where the craze is loudest. This is Messi’s first visit to Kolkata in 14 years, and fans can feel the goosebumps already.
During his whirlwind day in the city, he will be felicitated at Salt Lake Stadium by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The stadium will host the “Goat Cup”, a seven-a-side tournament in his honour.
Messi will also showcase his penalty-shooting skills, though he won’t play a full match. He is likely to share the field with Sourav Ganguly, Bhaichung Bhutia, and Leander Paes. He will also conduct a children’s workshop and launch a football clinic.
Kolkata last saw Messi in 2011 when he captained Argentina in a friendly at the very same venue.

There were plenty of rumours earlier from Kochi to Ahmedabad but after several changes, the official route is finally set.
Messi’s GOAT Tour now covers the whole map:
– East: Kolkata – December 13
– South: Hyderabad – December 13 (alternate stop added)
– West: Mumbai – December 14
– North: Delhi – December 15
In Mumbai, Messi will also attend the Padel GOAT Cup, joining cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni, along with top Bollywood celebrities.
