Shah Rukh Khan Film Festival: When the lights dim and that familiar silhouette spreads his arms wide, time itself seems to pause. For over three decades, Shah Rukh Khan has ruled not just the box office but the hearts of millions. This year, India’s biggest cinema chain, PVR INOX, is rolling out a red carpet tribute to the man who defined Bollywood romance and redefined stardom with a special film festival celebrating his birthday.

Starting October 31, the two-week-long Shah Rukh Khan Film Festival will take place across more than 75 cinemas in over 30 cities. It will bring back to the big screen a collection of the superstar’s most iconic films.

Let’s admit, SRK’s stories have made audiences laugh, cry, and fall in love all over again. This is why, from epic romances to thrilling adventures, this festival is a heartfelt cinematic journey through the many faces of India’s biggest star.

PVR INOX has carefully chosen films that showcase every shade of Shah Rukh. He is a lover, a rebel, a dreamer, and of course hero.

Among the re-releasing films is ‘Chennai Express’, the high-energy action comedy that combined southern flavour with Shah Rukh’s unbeatable comic timing. There’s ‘Devdas’, a tragic love saga that remains one of his most iconic performances, and ‘Dil Se’, the hauntingly beautiful tale of love and rebellion that became a symbol of poetic storytelling.

The line-up also includes ‘Jawan’, his recent action spectacle that earned him a National Award. Then comes ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na’, one of his earliest and most beloved films where he played an imperfect yet completely endearing dreamer.

‘Main Hoon Na’, a perfect mix of patriotism, emotion, and entertainment, finds its place too. And of course, ‘Om Shanti Om’ that stands as a grand salute to Hindi cinema’s golden era.

Speaking about the festival, Shah Rukh Khan expressed heartfelt gratitude. “Cinema has always been my home, and seeing these films return to the big screen feels like a beautiful reunion,” he said. “These aren’t just my stories. They belong to the audience who embraced them with love for over 33 years. I’m grateful to PVR INOX for celebrating this journey and to Red Chillies Entertainment for always believing in stories that connect us all. I hope everyone who comes to watch relives the joy, the music, the emotions, and the magic of cinema that we’ve shared together.”

It’s rare to find a star who speaks not just as an actor but as a storyteller; one whose bond with the audience feels deeply personal. Shah Rukh Khan’s career has been more than just about films; it’s been about connection. He is, as PVR INOX’s Lead Strategist Niharika Bijli described, “more than a global icon, he’s an emotion.”

In her words, “We’re thrilled to celebrate his extraordinary journey through a line-up of films that capture his magic, versatility, and enduring influence on Indian cinema. He’s loved by people of all ages, across every region. This festival is a tribute to his artistry and to the joy and hope he continues to bring to audiences around the world.”

The SRK Film Festival is part of PVR INOX’s larger initiative to honour artists and films that have left a lasting mark on cinema.
