It’s been five years since ‘Dil Bechara’ was released, but for actor Sanjana Sanghi, the film continues to live on as something “magical.” On the film’s fifth anniversary, Sanjana took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message and a behind-the-scenes video, thanking fans for their continued love and support.
Sanjana, who played the role of Kizie Basu in the film, poured her emotions into her post. “5 years to a dream that I could never even dare to dream being realised – of this life in the movies,” she wrote. “Five years to Dil Bechara & your endless love for it that will keep it alive forever. 5 years, to the start a journey of telling stories forever.”
She also added the hashtag #5YearsOfDilBechara.
Sanjana Sanghi remembers Sushant Singh Rajput:
The movie, directed by Mukesh Chhabra, marked his directorial debut. It also became deeply emotional for fans as it was the last film of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The story follows Kizie, a young girl battling thyroid cancer, and Manny, a lively cancer survivor.
Though the film never got a theatrical release due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it streamed online and became one of the most-watched films of 2020. Audiences connected with the story, the music, and especially with Sushant’s charming performance.
The release turned into a tribute from millions of fans across the world who were mourning his sudden passing.
Sanjana, who had earlier appeared as a child artist in ‘Rockstar’ (2011), got her big break with ‘Dil Bechara’. Her portrayal of Kizie was gentle, emotional, and honest.
Since then, she has gone on to act in films like ‘Rashtra Kavach Om’, ‘Dhak Dhak’, and ‘Kadak Singh’.
In her anniversary post, she also shared a reel that takes fans back to the sets of ‘Dil Bechara’, filled with smiles, dance rehearsals, and quiet moments with the team.
