After a mediocre performance in Tubelight, Salman Khan is back with a bang in Tiger Zinda Hai, as the film collects Rs. 114.93 crore at the box office in its first weekend!

Tiger Zinda Hai, which was released on December 22, has been roaring at the box office since day one. The film is on a phenomenal run and is unstoppable at the box office being helped by no new release and strong word of mouth.

The film based on the 2014 abduction of Indian nurses by ISIL has become the one of the highest grossing films of 2017 within just three days of the film’s release. Not only this, but the film has also emerged  as the highest weekend opener of 2017 by dethroning Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again, that collected Rs. 84.47 crore at the box office.

Tiger Zinda Hai has been doing exceptionally well at the box office as many regard this as a tribute to Bhai’s stardom.

The film received positive to mixed reviews from the critics but that didn’t stop the film from making records and interestingly the film has also gave a milestone feat to the Dabangg of Bollywood.

Tiger Zinda Hai has become Salman’s 12th consecutive film to enter the 100-crore club, a feat which has not been achieved by any actor so far. Also, the film has become the biggest weekend opener for Salman himself as comparison to his last and biggest blockbusters so far.

First weekend Collections of Salman’s recent blockbusters:

Tiger Zinda Hai: Rs.114.93 crore

Tubelight: Rs.64.77 crore

Sultan: Rs.105.53 crore

Bajrangi Bhaijaan: Rs.102.60 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai has surely become Salman’s much needed comeback film after a mediocre performance in Tubelight and will undoubtedly take the box office with a rage before 2017 ends.

With Christmas’ holiday still to go it’ll be interesting to see what wonders the film will do and whether it becomes the second film after Bahubaali 2 to collect Rs.150 crore in four days.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to the blockbuster film, Ek Tha Tiger, and is having a mammoth run at the box office ever since its release on December 22.
