Bollywood star Salman Khan is getting ready for a fresh cinematic shift as he prepares to enter the superhero genre for the first time in his long career.
This new project is designed as a large-scale, high-concept film that aims to reach audiences beyond India. The film brings together the creative force of Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, known for their work on ‘The Family Man’.
The project is being produced by Atul Agnihotri, while discussions are also underway with Mythri Movie Makers to join as a studio partner.

At present, the film is still in pre-production with major focus on visual design, technical planning, and overall scale.
Media reports suggest that the team is working toward beginning shooting around October 2026 once all preparation and pre-visualisation work is completed.
2026 shoot plan
The upcoming superhero film starring Salman Khan is being shaped as a large-budget spectacle meant for viewers across the world.
The creative team is focusing heavily on building a strong visual identity and advanced technical execution, which is why the project is currently in its detailed pre-production stage.
According to reports, the makers are aiming to start filming in October 2026.
Casting is also still in progress for the female lead role. Earlier speculation linked actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the project, but sources have clearly dismissed these rumours as incorrect.
The team is currently exploring multiple options for the lead actress. They are likely to finalise the casting decision within the next couple of months.
Salman Khan’s busy line-up
Apart from the superhero venture, Salman Khan has a packed schedule with two more major films in development.
One of them is an untitled action drama directed by Vamshi Paidipally. In this film, actress Nayanthara will be seen playing the female lead. The project is backed by producer Dil Raju, along with Shirish, Kuldeep Rathore, and co-producer Rafi Kazi.
In another major project, Salman will appear in ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. This film was earlier ‘Battle of Galwan’. It reportedly draws inspiration from the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces.
