Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has finally broken his silence over the swirling rumours about his alleged “unprofessional” behaviour during the making of ‘Sikandar’. For weeks, whispers in the industry suggested that Salman’s delayed arrivals on set were among the reasons the film didn’t perform as expected.
Standing before a cheering crowd and a room full of contestants hanging on to every word, Salman began by setting the record straight. “Yes, I used to come on set at 9 PM,” he admitted, smiling. “But that’s because my rib was broken.”
“People can say what they want,” he continued, “but I’ve never compromised on my work. If a film doesn’t click, that doesn’t mean someone was unprofessional.”
Salman then slipped in a cheeky remark aimed, though indirectly, at ‘Sikandar’ director AR Murugadoss. “He’s made another movie now, ‘Madharaasi’,” Salman said. “It’s a big film, much bigger than ‘Sikandar’.”

He then revealed something that most fans didn’t know: ‘Sikandar’ was originally a joint project between Murugadoss and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. But when things got complicated, both slowly distanced themselves.
“I still believed in the story and stood by it till the end,” Salman shared. “I don’t regret doing ‘Sikandar’. It was an emotional film, and I’m proud of it.”
Earlier, Murugadoss had hinted in interviews that Salman’s late arrivals disrupted shooting schedules especially during sequences with younger co-stars. He suggested that this inconsistency might have affected the final product.
He also admitted that although the script was emotionally strong, the execution somehow missed the mark.
