Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s love story ‘Saiyaara’ is making waves at the global box office. In just 12 days since its release, the romantic drama has crossed ₹94 crore in international collections, overtaking Vicky Kaushal’s historical action drama ‘Chhaava’, which had earned ₹91 crore overseas.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, this is a major milestone for ‘Saiyaara’. It is now the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 in the international market. This puts it ahead of big releases like: ‘Housefull 5’ (₹70.25 crore), ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ (₹66.75 crore), and ‘Murder Mubarak’ (₹54.00 crore).

The film has also gone beyond the international collection of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum’, which had earned ₹93.80 crore globally.

‘Saiyaara’ now holds second place among the highest-grossing Indian films abroad this year. The only film ahead of it is Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuraan’, which earned ₹124.50 crore.

Produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films (YRF), ‘Saiyaara’ is directed by Mohit Suri, the filmmaker known for musical hits like ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Murder 2’, and ‘Ek Villain’.

The story of ‘Saiyaara’ follows Ahaan Panday as a struggling musician trying to make it big. His life changes when he meets an ambitious journalist, played by Aneet Padda. The two fall in love, but their relationship is tested when a painful truth comes to light.

What’s helped ‘Saiyaara’ connect with audiences worldwide is its music, emotional storytelling, and the fresh chemistry between its lead pair. And, both Ahaan and Aneet are newcomers.

Trade experts believe that strong word-of-mouth, coupled with YRF’s strong global distribution network, has helped the film perform exceptionally well abroad. Countries like the UAE, USA, UK, and Canada have seen especially high turnout for ‘Saiyaara’, even beating bigger star-led films.
