Bollywood remembered one of its most iconic stars this week as veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha paid tribute to Dev Anand on his 14th death anniversary.
Shatrughan shared a heartfelt post on his official X handle, posting rare throwback stills from the films ‘Prem Pujari’ and ‘Gambler’, which he had done with the legendary actor. Calling Dev Anand “one of the most stylish and evergreen heroes”, Shatrughan wrote about the lasting influence Dev Saheb had on him.
“Remembering Dev Saheb with love, fondness & an attitude of gratitude. #DevAnand is one of the most stylish & evergreen heroes till date,” he posted. He also recalled the wisdom and guidance he received from Dev Anand, adding, “Your motivation & advice is very close to my heart even today. Long Live Dev Saheb! #DeathAnniversary.”

‘Prem Pujari’, directed by Dev Anand himself, featured Waheeda Rehman, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri, and Amrish Puri. The film followed the story of Ramdev Bakshi. He is a peace-loving army officer who defies orders, faces court-martial, disappears under mysterious circumstances.
Their second collaboration, ‘Gambler’, directed by Amarjeet, also brought Shatrughan Sinha and Dev Anand together on screen, alongside Zaheeda.

The legendary actor passed away in London on 3 December 2011 at the age of 88 due to cardiac arrest. His legacy however continues to shine brightly in Bollywood hearts.
Adding to the tributes, actor Jackie Shroff shared glimpses from ‘Swami Dada’, a 1982 drama directed by Dev Anand. The film starred Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, Naseeruddin Shah, Christine O’Neil, Padmini Kohlapure, and Dev Anand himself.
Jackie marked the film as his debut and shared several behind-the-scenes photographs along with the iconic song “Hai Apna Dil To Aawara” from Dev Anand’s 1958 classic ‘Solva Saal’.
He captioned his post, “Always in our hearts! #DevAnand” and tagged it with #43yearsofswamidada honouring the timeless presence of the evergreen star.
