Yes, the actress who won hearts with her roles in films like ‘Jannat’ and ‘Adipurush’ has officially joined the cast of ‘Mirzapur: The Film’. Sonal shared the big news on her social media, giving fans a sneak peek into a warm gift hamper and a heartfelt note from Excel Entertainment. The note read, “Dear Sonal, we are excited to have you on the team for ‘Mirzapur’. Can’t wait to see the magic you bring to the screen.”
Sonal’s excitement was palpable. “Still sinking in… So glad to be a part of a journey so incredible and game-changing,” she wrote. She added, “I’m immensely excited to join Mirzapur: The Film, and I can’t wait for you all to see what we have to unpack on the screen!”
The film which was first announced last year promises to bring back the same dark, intense world that fans fell in love with on the streaming series. Pankaj Tripathi returns as the feared crime boss Kaleen Bhaiya, while Ali Fazal and Divyendu Sharma reprise their roles as Guddu and Munna Pandit. Shweta Tripathi will be back as Golu Gupta, and the film also features strong performances from Abhishek Banerjee and Jitendra Kumar in pivotal roles.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and backed by Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ is expected to be an adrenaline-packed crime thriller.

For those unfamiliar, the series revolves around Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, the undisputed ruler of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, juggling power, politics, and ruthless crime.
Fans of the series will face the main cast of the first two seasons is largely returning with some fresh faces joining the ensemble. The story had shooting across various locations in Uttar Pradesh, including Mirzapur itself, as well as Lucknow, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Raebareli, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi.
Meanwhile, Sonal Chauhan is keeping herself busy with other projects too. She is all ready to make her Punjabi film debut with ‘Shera’, starring opposite Parmish Verma. This will be her first time sharing the screen with the actor.
