R Madhavan isn’t one to mince words when it comes to appreciating talent, and this time, his admiration directs at none other than Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who recently headlined the Hollywood action-comedy ‘Heads of State’.
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan in a candid interview, Madhavan described Priyanka’s latest international venture as a “moment of pride” for not just the actress herself, but for the entire nation.
Priyanka’s role in ‘Heads of State’, now streaming on Prime Video, is anything but ordinary. Sharing the screen with Hollywood heavyweights Idris Elba and John Cena, she dives headfirst into high-voltage action, no stunt doubles hiding in the background.
From intense fight sequences to sharp-tongued banter, she’s very much at the center of this fast-paced thriller.
And according to R Madhavan, that’s exactly what makes Priyanka Chopra journey so extraordinary.
“She has gone there and effortlessly taken the lead in a massive Hollywood project,” Madhavan said, clearly impressed. “She’s done action in the film, and honestly, half the heroes in India would love to be in her position. Playing such a role, in a film of that scale, is no small feat.”

Madhavan didn’t stop at just praising her acting chops. He pointed out how Priyanka has consistently carved her own path, breaking boundaries and setting new benchmarks for Indian actors looking to make a mark globally.
“I’m a big fan of how she carries herself, both on and off screen. She’s worked her way up with grace and determination. I am very, very proud of her,” he added.
Priyanka’s Hollywood journey has seen steady momentum over the years, from her leading role in ‘Quantico’ to films like ‘Baywatch’, ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, and now ‘Heads of State’.
But this latest project has turned particular heads for the way she commands attention alongside global stars, without being reduced to a token role.
Meanwhile, Madhavan has been keeping busy too. He’s currently basking in the response to his romantic drama ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’, which premiered on Netflix on July 11. In the film, he stars opposite Fatima Sana Shaikh, exploring themes of love and second chances. And if that weren’t enough, he’s also gearing up for his role in the upcoming spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’.
