President Droupadi Murmu is set to watch a special screening of ‘Tanvi The Great’, the much-anticipated directorial venture by veteran actor Anupam Kher, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, just days ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
Anupam Kher, who not only directed but also produced the film, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity. “It is an immense honour to showcase ‘Tanvi The Great’ to our Honourable President,” Kher said. “Given that the film explores themes of autism and the Indian Army, it feels especially significant to present it to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. President Murmu’s strength, dignity, and inspiring journey align deeply with the spirit of this film.”
The film has already begun making waves internationally. During its festival circuit, ‘Tanvi The Great’ earned accolades and standing ovations in cities like Cannes, New York, Houston, and London.

It also touched hearts during special previews held at the National Defence Academy and the Southern Command in Pune.
Joining Kher at the screening will be Shubhangi, the debutante who plays the titular character of Tanvi, along with a talented ensemble cast that includes Karan Tacker, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen.
Pallavi Joshi plays Vidya, Tanvi’s mother, while the story follows the young girl’s journey, inspired by her late father’s service in the Indian Army, and guided by the wisdom of her grandfather, Colonel Pratap Raina.
The film also shines a light on autism, aiming to create more awareness and empathy through its storytelling.
Backed by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), the movie is ready for a global release on July 18, 2025.
For now, though, all eyes will be on Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the country’s First Citizen will be among the first to experience ‘Tanvi The Great’.
