Not long ago, it was reported that the collaboration between JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment had come to an end after JA Entertainment terminated its contract with KRIArj for their upcoming film Parmanu. Now, KriArj has filed an FIR against actor John Abraham for cheating and fraud.

Prernaa Arora, head of KriArj, filed the FIR at Khar police station against Abraham on Wednesday morning.

KriArj still claims to be the sole and exclusive owner of Parmanu‘s rights, including being joint and equal owners of the film along with Abraham’s production house JA Entertainment, even after the latter had a lockdown with KriArj and terminated their contract.

“FIR has been registered by Khar Police Station against John Abraham and his company JA Ent after criminal complaint was filed by Kriarj Entertainment for commission of various criminal offences including cheating , breach of trust , fraud , misappropriation of funds and copyright infringement due to John and his company duping KriArj Entertainment out of the crores of rupees invested by KriArj Entertainment towards the production of the film ‘Parmanu’,” reads a statement issued by KriArj.

Prernaa also accuses JA Entertainment of accepting Rs 30 crore from them towards the production of the film. They also firmly believe JA terminated the contract illegally in an attempt to commit fraud.

In its defence, JA Entertainment released a separate statement and accused KriArj of material breaches and delay in payments/non-payments.

As of now Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran will be released under JA Entertainment banner on May 4, the same month when the Pokhran nuclear tests were conducted two decades ago.
