Pankaj Tripathi is stepping into a new chapter of his career, and this time, he is doing it from behind the camera. The National Award-winning actor is making his production debut with an eight-episode dramedy titled ‘Perfect Family’.
For Pankaj, this project is more than just a new venture. It is a chance to experiment, break old patterns, and bring stories to viewers in a fresh way. Instead of releasing the series on a big OTT platform, the makers have chosen a unique path, a structured pay model on YouTube.
The show will release under the JAR Series banner, backed by Ajay Rai of JAR Pictures and Mohit Chhabra.
Talking about turning producer, Pankaj said that the idea immediately touched him. He felt the story had honesty, warmth, and a gentle sense of humour.
“Perfect Family is very close to me. The way we are releasing it is bold and different. Viewers today find stories directly, and YouTube has become a strong place for long-format storytelling,” he shared.

The series is directed by Sachin Pathak and created by Palak Bhambri. At its heart, ‘Perfect Family’ deals with something many Indian families hesitate to talk about: therapy. But they are not making it serious or heavy.
The story follows a family that is far from perfect. Things take an unexpected turn when a situation involving their young daughter forces them to attend family therapy. What comes next is a mix of confusion and comedy, arguments and sweet moments as they try to fix their issues one session at a time.
Pankaj praised the director for handling such a sensitive topic with care. He believes that many families will find themselves reflected in this story. “Sachin has treated the subject with great empathy. I hope people accept this series and this new way of bringing stories to them,” he said.
The cast is another big highlight. The line-up includes talented performers like Gulshan Devaiah, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Girija Oak, and several others.
