Bigger, bolder, OMG-er
If the first two films made you laugh and think, get ready because OMG 3 is planning to go even further.
Akshay Kumar will reunite with director Amit Rai who steered OMG 2 to commercial and critical success. The earlier films dealt with big social themes from blind faith to sex education. This time, insiders say third film will push boundaries even more.
Currently in pre-production, the movie is likely to go on floors by mid-2026. According to the source, “Amit Rai has developed a story that’s larger, more relevant, and deeply emotional. Akshay was clear. The film had to outdo its predecessors in every way from performances to storyline. With Rani joining, OMG 3 just became a game-changer.”
The legacy of OMG
For those who need a refresher, the ‘Oh My God’ franchise has always been mix of entertainment and social commentary. The original ‘OMG!’ had Paresh Rawal as an atheist who sues God after an earthquake destroys his shop. Akshay Kumar played Lord Krishna.
Fast forward to OMG 2, Akshay returned as a divine messenger alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. He tackled sex education in Indian schools.
Both films were not just hits but sparked conversations while keeping viewers entertained.
