Filmmaker and writer Anees Bazmee took a moment on Wednesday to celebrate a special milestone: 21 years since the release of ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy films.
He marked the occasion with a heartfelt post on Instagram, sharing a poster of the film featuring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Priyanka Chopra.
“21 years of ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ – a film that still brings smiles, laughter, and a little bit of madness. Grateful for the love,” he wrote in the caption.
The post quickly caught attention, with fans filling the comment section with love and memories. One user called it “one of my favorites,” while another praised it as the “most entertaining movie.”
‘Released on July 30, 2004’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ was directed by David Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It featured Salman Khan as the hot-headed and unlucky-in-love Sameer, Priyanka Chopra as the charming Rani, and Akshay Kumar as the mischievous and clever Sunny, who adds chaos to Sameer’s life.

The film also starred veterans like Amrish Puri, Kader Khan, Satish Shah, and the ever-hilarious Rajpal Yadav.
Set in the beautiful beaches of Goa, the film followed a love triangle full of confusion, tricks, and comic timing. Two men trying to win over the same woman, while pulling pranks and playing mind games, it was the perfect mix of drama and laughter.
The story loosely drew inspiration from the Hollywood movie ‘Anger Management’, but brought in plenty of desi charm.
The movie was not only a hit among audiences but also a massive box office success. It became the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2004 and received much praise for its fun storyline and performances.
At the 6th IIFA Awards, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ won several major honours, including Best Film, Best Director (David Dhawan), Best Actor (Salman Khan), and Best Actress (Priyanka Chopra). It also got nominations for three Filmfare Awards.
