Actress Medha Rana, known for her work in ‘Friday Night Plan’, ‘Ishq In the Air’, ‘Dancing on the Grave’, and ‘London Files’, has landed one of the biggest roles of her career. She will be opposite Varun Dhawan in the upcoming war film ‘Border 2’, playing his love interest.
This is a major step forward for Medha, who comes from a family with a strong Army background.
The makers of ‘Border 2’ have praised Medha for her natural talent and dedication. Producer Bhushan Kumar shared that they were looking for someone who could genuinely portray the cultural and emotional essence of the region the film is set in.
Medha, according to him, stood out not just because of her acting skills, but also for her fluency in the local dialect and her emotional depth.
“She brings both freshness and realism,” he said.

Nidhi Dutta, daughter of legendary filmmaker J.P. Dutta and one of the producers of ‘Border 2’, added that every casting decision in the film was made with a clear vision.
“We are trying to tell a story that is powerful and honest,” she explained. She believes that Medha and Varun’s pairing will feel new and genuine, perfectly matching the emotional tone of the movie.
‘Border 2’ is directed by Anurag Singh and is set to release in theatres on January 23, 2026.
The film is a sequel to the 1997 classic ‘Border’, which was based on the real-life Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. That film, directed by J.P. Dutta, featured a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, and others.
‘Border 2’ has a strong team of producers: Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film comes in presentation of Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films.
