Malaika Arora has always been an epitome of confidence, charm, and glamour, and at 51, she is making it clear that age has nothing to do with being stylish or desirable.
In a recent conversation, the actress and dancer said it is time to move away from old-fashioned beliefs that glamour belongs only to the young.
“Women can be glamorous, desirable, and powerful at every stage of life,” she said.
Malaika Arora explained that she tries to live life authentically and hopes that by doing so, she can encourage women to break free from stereotypes that often make them feel limited by age. She believes that confidence and self-acceptance are the real sources of beauty.
She also shared that she sees age as a journey of evolution. “Every year brings wisdom, resilience, and a deeper understanding of yourself, and that, to me, is the most beautiful transformation of all,” she said.
Her words come as no surprise to fans who have followed her career over the decades. Malaika’s journey began as a VJ for MTV India in the 1990s. She soon became a familiar face in the world of music videos and advertisements.

Many still remember her appearance in Bally Sagoo’s popular track “Gur Naalo Ishq Mitha” opposite Jas Arora. But it was the iconic song “Chaiyya Chaiyya” from ‘Dil Se…’ in 1998 that made her a household name.
Dancing on top of a moving train alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Malaika became the symbol of glamour and boldness for an entire generation.
Through the years, she went on to perform in chartbusters like ‘Maahi Ve’ (2002), ‘Kaal Dhamaal’ (2005), and the unforgettable ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ (2010), which is still one of Bollywood’s most loved item songs. She also tried her hand at acting, appearing in films such as ‘Kaante’ (2002) and ‘EMI’ (2008).
Along with her screen presence, Malaika has made a mark on television as well. She has been part of the judging panel on ‘India’s Got Talent’, hosted ‘MTV Supermodel of the Year’ in 2019, and served as a judge on ‘India’s Best Dancer’ in 2020.
