Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Kedarnath, starring Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput, is going strong at the box office. After receiving a mixed response from the audience and critics, Sara Ali Khan’s debut film is pacing up having passed weekend and Monday with full ease.

After earning Rs 27.75 crore in its opening weekend, the film has crossed the Rs 30-crore mark within four days of release. The film earned 7.25 crore on Friday, Rs 9.75 crore on Saturday, Rs 10.75 crore on Sunday, Rs 4.25 crore on Monday, and Rs 3.57 crore on Tuesday. The total collection is Rs 35.75 crore.

Trade analyst and critics person, Taran Adharsh took to his social media account and shared the collections of the film. He wrote, “Kedarnath passes the crucial Monday test… Remain rock-steady… Fri 7.25 cr, Sat 9.75 cr, Sun 10.75 cr, Mon 4.25 cr. Total: ₹ 32 cr. India biz.”


Kedarnath presents the love story of a Hindu tourist Mukku (played by Sara Ali Khan) who is on a pilgrimage to the hill shrine of Kedarnath, and Mansoor, a Muslim porter (played by Sushant Singh Rajput). The story is set against the backdrop of the devastating Uttarakhand floods of 2013.

On Tuesday morning (December 11), lead actress Sara Ali Khan shared a thank you note for the appreciation she has found in Bollywood. Her post reads, “Thank you everybody for welcoming and appreciating Mukku with so much love. I’m already missing all those beautiful moments in Kedarnath but all it takes is a look in the mirror to catch glimpse of Mukku and to know she will always have an extremely special place in my heart and memory.”

Kedarnath is a production of RSVP and Guy In The Sky Pictures and it hit the screens on December 7.
