In Bollywood, where star kids are often likely to follow their parents’ footsteps, one little boy is already making headlines for saying ‘no’. And that boy happens to be none other than Yash Johar, son of filmmaker Karan Johar.

The famous director shared a playful video on Instagram that has the internet smiling. In the clip, Yash is wearing a bright blue T-shirt with the words “nepo baby” written across it. Karan, who is filming, asks his son if he knows what the T-shirt says. Without missing a beat, Yash confidently replies, “Yeah, but I don’t want to be launched,” before running away.

Karan, clearly amused and a little surprised, can be heard reacting in the background: “What? Who’s launching you anyway?”

The filmmaker captioned the post with pride and humor: “He has a mind of his own. I am HAPPY!!! Ps: T-shirts gifted to the twins by… (oops, she made me promise I won’t tell).”

Karan Johar, known for directing blockbusters like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, became a single father in 2017. His twins, Yash and Roohi, were born via surrogacy, and he raises them with the support of his mother, Hiroo Johar.

On many occasions, the filmmaker has spoken openly about how fatherhood has changed him. Earlier this year on Father’s Day, he wrote a heartfelt note on social media about being a single parent. “Some decisions are impulsive, some are strategised, and some are just blessed. My decision to be a single parent has been the most emotionally satisfying decision I could have ever made… the answer to my every prayer to the universe,” Karan shared.

He also reflected on the advice he often receives as a single dad. While many suggested books, podcasts, or tips from other parents, Karan revealed that he prefers to trust his instincts. “Each journey of a parent (more so a single parent) is unique and needs to be dealt with on personal instinct. There are no rules for parenting, only instincts that guide me every day,” he wrote.
