The confirmation came straight from Bachchan himself. On his personal blog, the megastar casually dropped the bombshell that he is meeting and working with Haasan again “after ages” reminding fans that their last outing together was ‘Geraftaar’. Why fans are losing it
Let’s be real. Two cinematic titans sharing screen space after almost four decades is not normal casting. It is a once-in-a-generation throwback. Their earlier film also starred Rajinikanth and turned into one of the year’s biggest hits.
For fans who grew up watching these giants dominate different industries, this reunion feels like full-circle movie moment playing out in real life.
Inside the world of Kalki 2
The sequel continues story of Kalki 2898 AD, dystopian sci-fi epic inspired by Hindu scriptures. The narrative is set in futuristic world where mission is to protect a child believed to be final incarnation of Vishnu.
The film also launched what makers are calling the Kalki Cinematic Universe, aiming to blend mythology with large-scale spectacle.
Bachchan will reprise his role as Ashwatthama bringing back the powerful presence he established earlier. Haasan meanwhile is likely to continue his pivotal character arc from the first instalment, which played a key role in shaping the larger narrative.
