It was in 1999 that India first danced to the beats of “Bijuria.” Sung by Sonu Nigam and featuring Ishitta Arun in the music video, the song quickly became a hit that lived on for decades in party playlists. Now, more than 25 years later, the duo has returned to revive the magic.
On Tuesday, Sonu and Ishitta surprised fans by dropping a playful video on Instagram. In it, the two recreated their old track but with a comic twist.
The skit begins with Ishitta watching the new version of “Bijuria” featured in the upcoming film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’. Praising the young stars, she says, “Bachchon ne accha kiya hai.” Sonu agrees, adding, “Bohot mast kiya hai, bohot accha kiya hai.”
But then, Sonu cheekily reminds her, “Humne bhi accha hi kiya tha.” Ishitta laughs and recalls their original look: “Hamare zamane ke hisaab se bohot accha tha. Red jacket, green dress… yaad hai na, Sonu?”
When Sonu sighs and says, “Ab nahi kar payenge yaar,” Ishitta refuses to accept defeat. She pulls him up and declares, “Mat bhoolo hum kaun hai… karke dikhayenge!”

Suddenly, the screen cuts to a lively transformation. Sonu and Ishitta reappear as glamorous dancers, performing with full energy to the reimagined “Bijuria.”
Ishitta captioned the post: “26 years later and the answer is still the same, of course we can do it #Bijuria.”
The buzz around “Bijuria” has grown because of its return in ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The track has been reimagined by music composer Tanishk Bagchi. Alongside Sonu Nigam’s evergreen voice, singer Asees Kaur adds fresh energy to the new version.
