Millenials, do you remember the thrill that ‘Humraaz’ had back in 2002? The suspense, the drama, the sizzling chemistry between Akshaye Khanna, Bobby Deol, and Ameesha Patel? Well, whispers of a possible sequel are floating around, and yes, it could bring Bobby and Akshaye back together on screen!

Bobby Deol and Akshaye Kumar: The comeback kings

The last few years have been a golden period for seasoned actors making unforgettable comebacks. Take Bobby Deol. His small but mighty role in ‘Animal’ (2023) had everyone talking although he had fewer scenes than lead Ranbir Kapoor and zero dialogues.

And Akshaye Khanna? His portrayal of Rehman Dakait in ‘Dhurandhar’ became talking point. His screen presence is impossible to ignore. Fans can’t stop imagining the magic if these two stars shared the screen again, especially in a stylish, age-appropriate ‘Humraaz 2’.

Filmmaker hints at a sequel

Ratan Jain, the producer of the original ‘Humraaz’, recently spilled some tea about the sequel in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. He said, “I can make ‘Humraaz 2’ if I get the right script for these two actors. We need scripts where they fit the part and have age-appropriate roles.”

He went on to praise both actors, calling Bobby “a pleasure to work with” and noting that Akshaye deserves “better films” after his recent successes.

Ratan added that Akshaye is famously selective about his projects. “Money is secondary to him. If he’s not happy with the script, he’ll reject the film,” the producer revealed.

What’s next for the stars?

While fans daydream about Bobby-Akshaye on-screen chemistry once again, both actors are busy charting their next moves.

Akshaye is gearing up for ‘Mahakali’ and the highly anticipated ‘Dhurandhar 2’, set to hit theaters on March 19. Bobby, meanwhile, is teaming up with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the upcoming action-drama ‘Alpha’.
