Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar’s family has been caught up in an unexpected controversy as Mumbai Police have registered a case against the driver of Honey Irani and a petrol pump employee for allegedly misusing fuel cards worth Rs 12 lakh.

The case, filed at Bandra Police Station on October 1, 2025, names Naresh Ramvinod Singh, Honey Irani’s long-time driver, and Arun Amar Bahadur Singh, a staff member at a Bandra petrol pump.

According to the complaint lodged by Honey Irani’s manager, Diya Bhatia, the duo allegedly carried out a series of fraudulent transactions over more than three years, from April 2022 to September 2025.

The FIR reveals that the driver and the petrol pump employee allegedly swiped fuel cards repeatedly without actually filling up the vehicles. Instead, the petrol pump staff reportedly handed over cash in exchange for the fake transactions.

The scam reportedly involved multiple swipes that went unnoticed until the family spotted irregularities in the vehicle’s fuel records.

“The accused repeatedly swiped the cards at a Bandra-based petrol pump without actually filling fuel in the vehicles. Instead, the petrol pump employee allegedly provided them with cash in exchange for the fake transactions,” the FIR notes.

Mumbai Police have booked both the driver and the petrol pump employee under sections 3(5), 316(2), and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, which relate to cheating, fraud, and criminal breach of trust. Investigators are now looking into the full extent of the alleged scam.
