In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, actor Faisal Khan made some shocking claims that have stirred up serious drama in the Khan household, as he spoke openly about being locked up in his own home for over a year by his family, including his superstar brother, Aamir Khan.
Faisal said, “Mujhe qaid kar ke rakha tha ghar mein ek saal.” This translates to, “I was imprisoned at home for a year.”
He added that his family said he was suffering from schizophrenia and could be dangerous to society. According to Faisal, he was also kept in JJ Hospital for 20 days, in the general ward, alongside mentally ill patients. There he underwent tests.
These accusations have now caught public attention, especially since they involve one of Bollywood’s biggest stars. However, Aamir Khan and the rest of the family aren’t staying silent on the Faisal matter. They have released an official statement, strongly denying Faisal’s version of events, as reported by The Indian Express.
In their statement, the Khan family expressed deep sadness over Faisal’s words. They claimed this wasn’t the first time he had spoken in a way that didn’t reflect the truth. According to them, all actions taken regarding Faisal’s health and well-being were done after careful advice from medical professionals.
“We are distressed by Faissal’s hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir,” the statement read. The family said they had stayed quiet for a long time out of respect for a difficult period in their lives. But now they felt the need to speak up.

The statement also included the names of several other family members who supported the response. This included Aamir’s ex-wife Kiran Rao, his children Junaid and Ira Khan, and actor Imran Khan.
The family clearly stated that there was no foul play involved. “Every decision was taken as a family, with medical advice, and out of love, compassion, and concern for Faisal’s emotional and mental health,” they said.
They also requested the media and public not to treat this matter like gossip.
Faisal Khan has been part of the film industry for many years. But he has often been away from the spotlight. He has previously spoken about feeling ignored or sidelined by his family.
