The diplomatic goodbye just got a filmy twist! France’s very own president walked out of India not with a speechy video, but with full Bollywood drama playing in the background. Yes, you read that right. The farewell clip shared by Emmanuel Macron came with the loud, punchy title track of ‘Dhurandhar’, and the internet could not stay calm.

A goodbye video… with Bollywood swag

Instead of a typical formal sign-off, Macron posted a slick montage from his India visit and simply wrote, “Thank you India!”

But fans weren’t busy reading the caption. They were replaying the background music. The unexpected use of a Bollywood action theme instantly turned the diplomatic clip into a viral pop-culture crossover.

Comments flooded in, praising the bold and fun musical choice, and suddenly the president looked like a surprise Bollywood fan.

Starry moments during the visit

Macron’s three-day India tour was packed with big engagements across Mumbai and New Delhi. He attended a special event with First Lady Brigitte Macron alongside several Indian film personalities, giving the trip a glam edge.

One of the most serious highlights, though, was the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, showing how closely India and France are working together on science and technology. Not long ago, both countries also co-chaired the AI Action Summit in February 2025, proving their shared interest in future tech is no small deal.

The film that stole the spotlight: Dhurandhar

The song that made this goodbye viral comes from ‘Dhurandhar’, the action entertainer led by Ranveer Singh. The film, released on December 5 last year, also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal.

The franchise is now growing bigger. The sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, is ready for a theatrical release on March 19, and its Hindi teaser has already stirred excitement online. But the road ahead won’t be easy. The film is expected to face tough box-office competition from ‘Toxic’ starring Yash.
