Dharmendra’s prayer meet: Friends and family come together in Mumbai to honour the legend

A heartfelt prayer meet to honour the legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, is going to take place in Mumbai this Thursday. The event will be held at a city hotel from 5 pm to 7:30 pm offering friends, family, colleagues, fans a chance to pay tribute to the actor’s remarkable journey in cinema.

The actor’s family shared the announcement through a poster featuring a vintage photograph of Dharmendra, titled “Celebration of Life.”

Bollywood insiders and fans alike are likely to attend in large numbers.

Dharmendra, earlier admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai due to breathing complications, had been on a ventilator. Despite initial signs of recovery, he passed away peacefully on November 24. His final rites conducted the same day attended by some of the biggest names in Bollywood including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan.

In the days following his passing, a steady stream of celebrities visited his Juhu residence to express condolences. Among them were Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Asha Parekh, Karisma Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani.

Even in his late 80s, Dharmendra remained active in films. He recently appeared in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ and Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’.

Fans will also get to see Dharmendra’s final performance posthumously in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ikkis’ starring Agastya Nanda. The film is going to release on December 25.
