Imagine being a new parent, fiercely protective of your baby, and suddenly the internet flashes her face to millions of strangers. That’s exactly what happened to Bollywood’s beloved couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh with their daughter, and it has left fans divided, but mostly angry on their behalf.
Recently, a video began circulating online showing the couple with their daughter, Dua, at Mumbai International Airport.
In the clip, little Dua is seen sitting on her grandmother’s lap as the family is ferried in a buggy. Deepika, visibly upset, can be seen scolding the person filming them.
This has turned into a storm on social media because Deepika and Ranveer had made one thing clear from the start, they wanted to decide when and how to share the face of their daughter with the world.
The paparazzi, who often push boundaries for celebrity moments, had respected this wish. But the so-called “fan” who leaked the video broke that silent agreement.

The reaction online was swift. Many netizens called out the invasion of privacy, reminding others that celebrities, too, are entitled to protect their children. Several voices highlighted that capturing and sharing a child’s face without consent is not just disrespectful but also unsafe in today’s digital age.
Deepika and Ranveer welcomed Dua on September 8 last year. And since then, they’ve been careful about how much of her they share. Back in December, the couple invited the paparazzi to their home for an introduction. But even then, they avoided revealing her photographs.
That moment came during Diwali, when the couple revealed their daughter’s name to the world: ‘Dua Padukone Singh’. Alongside the announcement, they wrote a deeply personal message: “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love & gratitude.”
