Actor-turned-director Prabhudeva has been roped in to direct the third part of Salman Khan’s much-loved action film, Dabangg 3.
Prabhudeva, who has worked with Salman in Wanted, confirmed the news himself in an interview to Bollywood Hungama.
Prabhudeva said: “I was in Mumbai last week to finalise all the details. Yes, I am directing ‘Dabangg 3’ for Salman and Arbaaz Khan. Who says no to them? We’ve been closely associated for the longest time. I share a warm friendship with Salman Khan and his brothers. When Salman and Arbaaz asked me to direct ‘Dabangg 3’ there was no question of saying no.”
With Prabhu joining the film as the director, fans can’t wait to see the duo returning to the big screen after their blockbuster film Wanted.
Apparently, it was reported earlier that Arbaaz Khan, who directed Dabangg 2, won’t be helming the upcoming film but will continue to serve as the producer of his film series.
Coming back to Prabhudeva, the filmmaker wishes to give the film his own spin.
“Everything, including the cast remains the same. Salman, Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz… the music will be by Sajid-Wajid. Everything in Dabangg is unchanged except me: the director,” Prabhudeva said.
Prabhu also gave a hint about the film’s plot, which will also explore Chulbul Pandey’s journey in becoming a police officer through flashbacks.
“The story starts with ‘Dabangg 3’ in the present and then it goes back to the past and then comes back to the present day again. It will have a prequel portion, but only as a flashback. So it’s Chulbul Pandey now and then — what has gone on in his life before part one and two. The flashback will show how Chulbul Pandey actually became Chulbul Pandey. The remaining part will be about what he’s up to now.”
Dabangg 3 is grabbing eyeballs with each passing day and fans can’t help to control their excitement for Salman’s upcoming film.
Well, 2018-19 will be indeed a treat for all Salman fans as the actor will be seen in multiple films like Race 3, Bharat, Dabanng 3 and Kick 2.
