The trailer of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ is finally here. Released on May 11, Ananya Panday shared it on social media with the line: “A love story that’s not perfect, not planned, just a little real.” The film hits theatres on May 22, so the timing is right. Directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Dharma Productions, the film pairs Ananya with Lakshya Lalwani for the first time.

The trailer is about two minutes and fifty-four seconds long. It opens with Lakshya’s character Aarav apologising to Ananya’s character Chandni. So trouble is already there from the first frame.

From there, it goes through the usual beats: they fall for each other, things get intense, there’s a big fight, and then heartbreak. Chandni picks her self-respect over the relationship. Aarav seems to have anger issues. It’s not a new story, but the emotional scenes land reasonably well.

The one thing people are actually talking about after watching the trailer is the chemistry between Ananya and Lakshya. It works. Both of them look comfortable together on screen, and the emotional scenes, the quiet ones especially, feel genuine.

Ananya has been consistently working across OTT and theatrical releases. Lakshya comes into this fresh off ‘Kill’, which got him a lot of attention. This is his first proper romantic lead role, and it’s a big shift from an action thriller.

Vivek Soni previously directed ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ on Netflix. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke D’Souza.

‘Chand Mera Dil’ opens in cinemas worldwide on May 22, 2026, and is expected to stream on JioHotstar roughly 45 to 60 days after that, though no official OTT date has been announced yet.
