Bobby Deol may be the quietest Deol when it comes to personal life, but when he talks about his family, there’s always honesty. The actor recently opened up about his father Dharmendra and his mother Prakash Kaur.
In an interview with ABP Live, Bobby revealed that his parents, Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur, are currently living together at the actor’s farmhouse in Khandala. “My mum is also there. They’re both at the farm in Khandala right now. Papa and Mummy are together; he just gets a little dramatic,” Bobby said.
His comment was in response to Dharmendra’s emotional social media posts that sometimes give fans the impression that he feels lonely. Bobby, however, clarified that the veteran actor isn’t alone. He just wears his heart on his sleeve.
“Papa is very emotional and expressive. He shares whatever he’s feeling with everyone. Sometimes he goes overboard, and I ask him why he wrote what he wrote. He says, ‘I just followed my heart.’”
Bobby added that his father’s emotional nature often makes his posts sound melancholic, even when he’s surrounded by love. “Yes, we do meet him often, but sometimes we get busy and he gets emotional. He doesn’t realise how many people read his posts,” Bobby said.
While Dharmendra’s love life has been public and often talked about, Bobby took the chance to speak about his mother, Prakash Kaur, the woman who has stood by his father since the beginning. “You don’t hear about my mother much because people don’t usually ask us about her,” he said. “And since my father and brother are actors, I end up talking more about them.”

Bobby credited much of his father’s success to his mother’s unwavering support. “I am what I am because of my wife, and it’s the same with my father. He became a big star because of my mother’s support.”
Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur’s marriage began long before the world knew him as the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood. They got married in 1954, when Dharmendra was just 19. Together, they had four children: Sunny and Bobby, who followed in their father’s footsteps, and daughters Ajeeta and Vijeta.
In the 1970s, Dharmendra met Hema Malini on the sets of ‘Tum Haseen Main Jawaan’ (1970). Their on-screen chemistry soon blossomed into real love, and Dharmendra went on to marry Hema in 1980.
Hema and Dharmendra chose to live separately in their own bungalow, while Prakash continued to stay with her children in the family home. Over the years, the family maintained a respectful distance. Hema’s daughter, Esha Deol, once shared that she met Prakash Kaur for the first time only when she turned 30.
