Time really does fly in Bollywood. What feels like just yesterday for many movie lovers has today completed a quarter of a century. Actor Anil Kapoor marked the 25-year milestone of his emotional film ‘Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’, and in doing so, he also opened his heart about memories, friendships, and the film’s journey.

Released on August 24, 2000, the movie starred Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles, with Sonali Bendre and the late Satish Kaushik playing key characters.

‘Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’ touched on delicate topics like rape, single parenthood, and finding love again despite heavy responsibilities.

On Instagram, Anil Kapoor shared a special collage of scenes from the movie. Along with the post, he wrote a heartfelt note. He recalled how the film was made, the special people who became part of it, and above all, his bond with Satish Kaushik.

One of the most interesting parts of his note was the story of how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came on board. At the time, Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya were working together on ‘Taal’, where he was impressed by her talent. He recommended her to director Satish Kaushik and producer Naidu. Initially, there were some doubts, but once Satish Kaushik saw her perform, he was convinced that she was the perfect choice.

However, things were not so simple. Just before filming began, Aishwarya had second thoughts and nearly stepped away from the project. Anil Kapoor and Satish Kaushik then personally visited her home and spoke to her. After an emotional conversation, she agreed to continue.

“I’m so glad she stayed on board,” Anil shared. He praised her phenomenal performance that became one of the film’s biggest strengths.

The film eventually turned out to be a success, both critically and commercially/
