A quiet note on a personal blog turned into a moment of shared grief across millions of fans. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, often called Big B, opened his heart after hearing about the death of one of his most devoted followers from Prayagraj.

For Amitabh, fans are never just fans. He calls them his “extended family” or EFs. This bond became visible again when he wrote about Shalini Singh from Allahabad (now Prayagraj). The actor shared that the news left him deeply saddened.

On his long-running blog, something he has maintained for over 6,600 days, he admitted that writing about such losses is never easy.

In his words, expressing grief in moments like these is one of the most painful things he has to do. Instead, he said, he turns to prayers, love, and silent condolences.

The bond beyond stardom

Amitabh’s connection with his fans has always stood apart in the film industry. Through letters, social media, and especially his blog, he has built a direct relationship with them over the years.

This is why moments like these hit differently. For him, the passing of a fan is not distant news. It feels like losing someone from his own circle.

Many of his followers, who proudly call themselves EFs, often respond to his posts, creating a two-way relationship rarely seen at this scale.

Work continues amid grief

Even as he deals with personal loss, Amitabh continues to stay active on the professional front. He was last seen in the film ‘Vettaiyan’, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The movie featured a strong cast including Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami, Ramesh Thilak.

He is currently shooting for the sequel of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, directed by Nag Ashwin, alongside stars like Kamal Haasan and Prabhas.

Reports also suggest he may appear in ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ by Nitesh Tiwary, sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. He is expected to play Jatayu in the film.

On television, he was last seen hosting ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, the Hindi version of the global format ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’.
